Resurrection Sunday - 4/12/2009

Celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Zach's 17th B-day Cake

I attempted to make a birthday cake for Zach - regardless of the fact that is wasn't pretty, it got squished on the way there, AND I didn't even spell his name right. Even still  - it tasted great (and got everyone's tounge green).

Finals week

Just a quick explanation for the lack of posts on here. Finals week is here which has resulted in a computer battle in the household, thus resulting in a dry spell of posts (you can guess who won the battle). It is incredible to think that the first quarter is already. One down, eleven more to go. These next few years are going to be interesting to say the least. We are learning as we go to adjust to seminary life and we have already faced challenges that we never expected to face. It's funny how the hardest times we've ever faced as a couple have in a weird way brought us even closer together. Being young and in love is a funny thing.

As an update from the last post, we did end up getting a new set of brand new couches which are divine. Any one is more than welcome to stop by and test them. They are worth the trip. Once I get around to it, I will post pictures of our "updated" living room. It got quite a face lift.

A small update in Drake news: Drake was recently diagnosed with asthma. He is taking medication daily which seems to be helping. It has, however, drastically effected his activity level. In short, this just adds to the complexities of life since he will be taking this medication from now until forever. Poor little guy - but he's doing pretty well taking the pills.

That is all the lastest new from the Kenney house. Things are well. Next week is a break in school so we are going to try to spend some quality time together, which will be a blessing. It's a constant struggle to keep the relationship health and thriving. But we are living in His grace and doing just fine.

In Christ,
J and S

Couches for sale

In Duran style, we are going to advertize our couches for sale here on our blog to give our blog buddies a chance to claim them.

We just bought our first brand new set of couches, so unfortunatly we need to get rid of our old couches. We have one olive green couch and one tan leather love seat to sell. We are asking $200 for the set, but we are willing to make a deal with someone who is a friend in Christ. We are flexible.

The couch probably needs new foam inserts and the love set has some light cat scratches on the left arm (which I easily cover with a blanket), but other than that they are both in great condition. Plus they are cute!

If you are interested, let us know asap. Our new set isn't coming until Feb 21st, so we need someone that can pick them up at our place on either the 20th or early the 21st.

If we can't sell them, we are just going to donate them and share the blessing to someone in need.

Thanks for reading!

In Him,
Jason and Sarah

Annual Holiday Post

The Kenney Family - 2008

Like last year, we will do just one post to send out all our holiday greetings at once. So with that: We hope everyone had a wonderful, God-centered Christmas and New Years! We pray for many blessings for you all in 2009.

Our 2008 was so very blessed, it's nice to look back...

  • In April, by the providence of God, Jason's old Buick was stolen while at work and as a result God provided us the opportunity to buy his newER Toyota (the blessing is that it's in better shape and much better for commuting to Vallejo).

  • Over the summer God provided us with the opportunity to open our humble residence to a small group of people to do a study through When I Don't Desire God (we miss that study!)

  • In July we got to help my older sister move out on her own to her first apartment.

  • In August we were blessed to celebrate our very first anniversary while on a wonderful vacation in Disneyland.

  • In December, Jason was accepted to The Cornerstone Seminary - what a great Christmas present!

Looking ahead we both can imagine that 2009 is going to be a year of trials and tougher times for everyone - including us. With seminary starting in a number of days (an awesome blessing, but also a challenge)and furloughs eminent for both of us, its easy see why we all need to be relentless in prayer. We are joyfully trusting in God for His great providence, yet fully aware that things will be hard - and most likely get worse -as the ends days get closer.

We are so blessed to have such love from friends and family and look forward to a blessed year. 2009 - here we come!

In Him,

J&S
